Spiritualism
Spiritualism is a mystical practice in which a person uses their spirit to affect the world around them in a supernatural way. The most common applications of Spiritualism fall under three categories, or Spirit Articulations (Spirit Arts for short).
- Body Arts - the art of enhancing or modifying one’s physical body
- Elemental Arts - the art of manipulating elemental forces within your spirit’s reach
- Psycho Arts - the art of actualizing thoughts
These Spirit Arts can be utilized, built on, or combined in endless ways that are only limited by the user’s imagination. In recent years it has also become common to combine non-spiritual disciplines (such as chemistry or engineering) with Spirit Arts to bend reality in ways previously thought impossible.
While every living being is capable of utilizing their spirit in one way or another, conscious Spiritualism requires careful practice and years of study to master. The more intricate an articulation someone is attempting to perform, the less control that person will have over its outcome. Because of this, it is common for lofty practitioners to irreversibly morph their bodies into monstrous shapes, blow themselves up, or drive themselves insane entirely by accident.
