Six Skies
Overview
Oceans of the air, the skies became filled with life, wonder, and adventure after the Asteroids fall. The Six Skies have fewer natural disasters in comparison with the sudden calamities that plague those living on the ground. Moreover, the few that exist -- such as typhoons, thunderstorms, and frostlight -- are generally avoidable if you know what to look for. As such, creatures all over the planet kickstarted their evolution, sprouted wings, and took to the skies to survive.
Survival
Make no mistake, if you're flying you will want a seasoned Sky Captain by your side. Many Captains learn to feel the flow of the wind and smell the air to steer clear dangerous storms. However, the biggest threat up high has always been the creatures who claim the air as their hunting ground. Ravenous Lions, Bloodthirsty Piranha Packs, Speed Eagles, and Giant Poisonous Insects are just a few of the flying monsters you may encounter here. Unlike the ground, there are few places to hide in the air. This means that almost every encounter leaves you with two options: kill or be killed.
Just pray that you only encounter flying sharks and tigers. Legends exist of mythical creatures such as dragons, rocs, and gryphons roaming the Six Skies; except no one has ever lived to prove these legends true.
Inhabitants
Few people are able to survive the skies. Those who do are considered to be as vicious as the animal predators roaming there, namely Pirates. By using flying fortresses and sky ships, Pirates stay on the move showing no mercy to anyone who crosses their paths. Most cities around the world have barred Pirates from their ports as there is usually blood on their treasure. However, due to Celeste's proximity to their hunting grounds, her ports have always been open to renegade Pirate groups. In return, Pirates have played an important part in Celeste's protection. They coordinate her militia groups, procure special treasures, and build forever homes in the only stable point they have in the sky.
